Crash : SH createItemWithparent ... Shell32.dll

I turned on the computer this morning and was greeted by this message:

The procedure entry point SH createItemWithparent could not be located in the dynamic link library Shell32.dll

It popped up in an explorer.exe box with a black screen otherwise. I had to restart the computer through task manager. I have not been able to reproduce the error successfully.

As far as the reports go I choose to monitor and install updates myself rather than automatically. MSE is running on the system as well.

Done. Result: No malicious files or activity was found during the scan.

I was sure to download and update the software prior to running it in safe mode. I also made sure to check the settings to make sure that the program did a thorough scan.

No DMP file included in upload try this method.


If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

I've decided to do a low-level format because the computer BSOD's before I get a chance to run a restore or create a new zip for the dump files.
