Crashed Updating Nvidia GTX 260. Can't start Win7.StartupRepair Failed

It's saying it cannot detect a problem. I'll run it a few more times though. Any other suggestions?

Have you tried Safe Mode? If you can get into Safe Mode, you could look in Event Viewer by going into Start Menu and typing Event Viewer into the search programs and files. Check Window Logs -> Application logs and System logs for any errors.

Only error I have under apps, is one from last night. Spybot, Source- SidebySide, EventID 63,
Today I just have information logs and one warning log for Winlogon, EventID 6000.
Under system I have a lot of errors today. The list is :

Source : Service Control Manager, EventID : 7001. That one appears about each time I restarted.

Source: DistributedCOM, EventID: 10005

and one critical Kernel-Power EventID 41. But im pretty s ure thats because of manual restart

Kernel power is due to a manual reset, as you said. I will look into the others... EventID: 7001 and EventID: 10005

I'll be out the remainder of the day. If the above fail, try going through http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...ation-conflicts-performing-clean-startup.html starting in Safe Mode and seeing if you can get to Normal mode to do a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html (recommend backing up your important user files before attempting this in case the install fails due to your stability issues), and if that does not work try rolling back to restore points.

If nothing works, backup your important user files and http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html as you cannot do a repair install to Windows if Windows will not run normally.

Well I did a clean install, rebooted to do some installs for updates. It froze. Im going to attempt to call my warranty from DELL, however any ideas from anyone on what the issue can be is helpful. I have had bad assistance from DELL in the past...

Have you tried booting to Safe Mode?

If successful you can then uninstall the NVIDIA driver update and go from there.

Do be careful what you say to Dell. If your computer came pre-installed with Windows and you have subsequently carried out a clean install you may find you have invalidated your warranty.

So they had me remove the "bridge" that connects my two video cards. When I plugged everything back on the PC was back to speed and acting normally. Does this seem like an actual fix? I'm going to receive two new video cards out of it, but im skeptical if this is even really fixed and not just temporary.
Also both cards are still in place, just the bridge is removed. Yet there's no errors in device manager. Which I'm guessing is normal since BOTH cards are physically in the PC? I don't know.

I was unaware you had two video cards. The best way to find out whether it is a fix is to find a forum for nVidia cards and one specific to your card(s). I am not familiar with graphics card bridges. You could also try posting a new thread regarding your cards in Hardware & Devices - Windows 7 Forums and see if the gurus in that forum can help.

Were you able to get the SLI bridge problem resolved? I recently had another user with a similar problem, and your experience was helpful. Let us know how it turned out. :)
