Create Restore Point

Hi Brink 7 Kaktussoft,
Ref: Unable to RESTORE & User accounts
A note to say thank you for your superb Tutorials and help towards resolving my problem.
I tried everything suggested by 7Forum but could not resolve problems.
In the end I decided to try resolv by useing my Repair/Recovery Disc....with great anxiety!!
This gave me the following options:
1 Startup repair
2 System Restore........1st effort ran 2hrs.,,2nd 1hr, before I cancelled
3 System Image Recovery
4 Win Memory Diagnostic
5 Command Prompt
As you can see I first tried System Restore.....no use. Returned same 0x80042302
Fortunately, on an X drive I had a 3mth old “System Image Recovery”, chose this option and everything worked like a dream and I do not appear to have lost any Data. Except that created after June. Now, at present, I am a very Happy Bunny.
Moral of this tale.....Read Advice from Mag’s & Listen to professional advice, when give, in places like this Forum.
Thank you all for your help and guidance. ‘spect I’ll need you again in the future..just wish I could contribute more
Darcy
Always look on the bright side of life

You restored a backup made in June (when everything still worked). Of course everything put on disk afterwards is lost! Why didn't you backup your important documents prior to restore the image?

Btw "2 System Restore........1st effort ran 2hrs".... can be normal. Was screen freezing, or did you still see some animation on the screen?
