Solved creating new partition, not enough free space but should be enough

I created a new partition of 50.0 MB on an external hard drive from unallocated space using the wizard. I want to copy into it files that total under 38.0 MB. 38.0 MB is listed as the free space in that partition. But when I send the files to that partition, i get a message saying that there is not enough free space.

It looks like the partition you are trying to save the data to is labeled as 50 MB RAW and needs to be formatted NTFS for Windows to use it. The simplest thing to do might be to delete that RAW partition and create a new NTFS one. You can follow the steps in the tutorial below if you like.

I tried that first. I had the same result. 38.0 GB but still did not have enough space. That's why I created it raw, to see the whole 50.0 GB. (and then I did make it NTFS). I tried changing the default setting to 512 MB and had the same result.

A pragmatic solution:
If it was me I wouldn't be creating small 50 GB partitions. I'd expand it to something larger (into some or all of the unallocated space to the right. Then just use folders to segregate specific data.
I find the free Partition Wizard far more flexible and easy to use compared with Windows Disk Management.

You need to check your math, the partition says it is 50MB not GB from your snips.

Your reply got me to look at the sizes I'm trying to use. DUH!!
I've been trying to put approximately 38 GB into a partition of 38.0 MB.
