Solved Error: "There is not enough free memory to run this program"

Hi !!!
i had this problem as well, for people that had not solve it yet try this.
first of all i had a restore point but i cant access to any folder because of this message "There is not enough free memory to run this program. Exit one or more programs, and then try again."
so i restart the pc and press f8 and start windows repair mode, it will show you the following:

system restore

system image recovert

windows memory diagnostic tool

command prompt

re-install windows

( type " windows 7 repair mode " in google images to see what you have to open)

then make click on system restore and select your early point!
this solution is only for people that had a restore point created...
i had this problem because i downloaded a program to backup my registry, so be carefull and always create a restoration point before do anithing to the registry .
good luck!

i checked and reapplied several times: System, Administrator and my user account all had access to CLASSES_ROOT and it still wouldn't work...

now i tried something i considered silly and of course grasping at straws - i reset the accessibility for "Benutzer" (german for Users) to full as well - i thought, as i'm the only user IN here, i would have taken care of all the user accounts that mattered - apparently not >.< : D

and THIS resolved all the problems - as weird as it seems (to me that is)

Afraid this is over my head. Went to Classes_root. Permission was administrator (me)

Anybody know how to do this? The solution called for applying security permissions to that registry folder so of course I did it for myself as an administrator thinking the same thing you did, that this would work and it didn't. Once I added all users to the security permissions my computer was once again functioning like before. My HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ for permissions only has administrator.

Just wanted to thank whoever made this thread, and even solved his own problem! I couldn't figure out how to use SETACL, unless it does something without me entering any commands other than running it. But I gave "system" and "users" full control over Hkey_classes_root and suddenly I had folder/controlpanel access. My sound is back as well! Hopefully more people see this thread and that it does indeed have a solution. Much faster than reinstalling windows

I had the same problems than you. First I configured my office perfmissions yesterday; and today audio, explorer and window installer not works.

Your tip is amazing!. Set permissions on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT save-me a lot of time.
