Solved CSR Harmony bluetooth 4 pairs but will not connect

Nothing appears in services. I cant get bluetooth to work!!!

Checking the specs of the system at HP It does not mention bluetooth support, are you using a USB dongle and if so do you have the correct drivers installed and running correctly (the services screen you show would suggest that the bluetooth subsystem is not running),

If you have everything installed and running correctly the system or Dongle, Bluetooth version will need to be the same or later than that of the device

I'm using a USB bluetooth adapter thingy. but idk where to get drivers for it
its bluetooth 4.0 costech brand

I dont have a cddrive and dont have orginal drivers for it
please help

I have windows default driver installed (it automatically installed it by windows update)
but its not working. even after repair-installing windows with a repair cd and "upgrading" windows over top of itself!

i cant get it to work
Devices will pair but dont make any sound or show any signs of actually being connected and so no drivers get downloaded for the device.
sometimes in windows hardware and devices page it will show it alternate every couple seconds between connected and disconnected

but nothing happens on the device itself.
i'm trying to connect a bluetooth speaker

Had a look around for details on Costech and they appear to be one of those companies that sell everything you can think of - from bed sheets to computer hardware. they do list a CSR v4.0 bluetooth adaptor and there are a few links on the net to this device and users looking for working drivers, without any success. apparently they are supposed to work out of the box with the windows drivers, however there are a lot of users who appear to have similar issues to yours.

I cannot find an actual location for the company, they show up on search down the list after a dental Lab! could be anywhere worldwide, you may have more luck going through your local US sales source, there is supposed to be a disk with the item with drivers which you could possible obtain and use a system with a CD/DVD player to extract them for use .

Bluetooth adaptors have long been an issue with reliability, partly due to the fast rate of development, but also as there are a lot of companies that produce sub standard items cheaply - I personally only use items from Major brands but have been lucky with cheaper units in the past

I found CSR Harmony bluetooth 4.0 driver and it WORKS FINALLY!

its different than windows built in bluetooth driver. and actually works
i can finally connect my bluetooth speakers! and sound works!
