ctrl +scroll wheel

So on windows 7 apparently every website has to have the smallest font possible, so I have to use the ctrl + scroll wheel trick just to be able to read anything at all.
Is there any way to make legibility permanent? I've been through the font size settings, dpi settings, etc., they all end up distorting web pages by increasing font sizes without changing column widths, so everything is just unreadable in a different way.
I'm beyond sick of having to use the ctyrl/scroll wheel on every single web site I visit.
As far as I'm concerned this is a definite deal breaker, and I'm going to dump windows 7 if there isn't a solution to this.

What browser are you using? Also this problem exsits for every OS.

I use both Firefox and IE8.
BTW I never had this problem on XP.

Okay for IE:
Internet Options > General > Accessibility (Button just above Ok)
Then "Ignore font sizes..."

For Firefox:
Options > Content > Fonts & Colors > Advanced...
Uncheck "Allow pages to choose..."

BTW Windows 7 doesn't make fonts smaller it doesn't do anything of the sort. Do you happen to have a higher resolution monitor then you did with XP? ( I have both XP and 7 on my computer, aside from lacking certain fonts both are the same size. )

If you encounter display problems like I did, try just upping your zoom level in IE8.
I have mine set to 125%
