Thread title about sums up my issue. When I scroll down to the bottom of the Internet page I am on it bounces/flickers up and down. Whether I am using my mouse or my finger pad.

Like after I write my post then I go to submit it by clicking the submit button I have to raise the page up a few inches so I can reach the submit button. But the page will jump right back up as soon as I release the page down button enough to hide the submit button. Which prevents me from clicking the submit button and posting, very frustrating.

I currently use Firefox, but I switched it temporally to Chrome thinking maybe it was the browser, but it did the same thing, flickering when I tried to scroll down to the bottom of the page. I don't recall ever having this problem before with Internet pages on my computer, so I'm thinking its the site? But I see that others are online, but I don't know if they are having the same issue also?

Just want to add that this only happens with one Internet site, every other site is okay. I don't get the up/down page flickering with any other sites. So that's why I believe its the site and not my computer.

Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I once had similar problems when I had ClickLock enabled, so I'd suggest checking that you might have this enabled.

Go to Mouse > Buttons > Turn on ClickLock and make sure that this box is unchecked.

As a work around, another suggestion to try would be to use zoom to scale your browser image to less than 100%, that way, you can find the Submit button without loosing the top of the page.

It seems that you have the finger pad & the mouse active together. Have you tried disabling the finger pad & just using the mouse only.

R. Thanks iko22 for that info: I did go to ClickLock which was turned on and unchecked the box. I then went to the site I was having the up/down flickering issue with, but it still flickered up/down keeping the send button out of reach.

So I tried your 2nd suggestion making the page less than 100%. So I tried 90% on the Internet page and that worked. I was able to send a message, but the site didn't send it to the person it was intended for, rather they just saved and put my message into my draft folder. Apparently they want me to complete my account upgrade in order to do that. Which I'll have to complete my profile before I can send my messages.

But thanks for the info as it allowed me to at least stop the page flickering and be able to see and click the send button, thanks again, appreciate it. :-)

R. Thanks Ranger4.

How do I do that? Seeing that I fixed the flickering Internet page by reducing the size of that page via Firefox.

Is it recommended that I only use one or the other or both? I haven't had any issues using both so far? It was just with that one Internet site page I was having the up/down flickering issue with until I reduced the page size 10%. Once I did that I was able to see and push the send button, which I couldn't do before.

These websites might help you with that.

How to disable your laptop touchpad | PCWorld

Or this YouTube video also shows how to do it.

how to enable or disable touchpad on Acer Aspire V3-771G - YouTube

R. I tried the 1st link, but I don't have "Device Settings" listed under my mouse settings, everything but that.

So I tried the 2nd "Device Manager" suggestion in that same link, but even tho I followed the directions instead of turning off the finger mouse pad, instead it turned the hand held mouse off? I clicked on the other two devices and disabled same, but it didn't shut off the finger pad?

But holding FN & F7 at the same time did disable the finger pad.

I'm not sure what the finger pad has to do with the Internet page flickering up & down as initially stated? But it does resolve the issue of the pointer flying all over the screen if you accidentally touch the finger pad with your hand/arm while typing.

I tried reverting the finger pad back to normal just to see if it would work, but instead of getting a pointer, I got a what looks like a capital "I" instead. So I just disabled the finger pad again.

But thanks for the links that indirectly resolved the flying pointer issue, lol.

Lastly, my laptop is an Acer Aspire 5920, but it appears the FN-F7 quick fix applies to both models.

Thanks again.
