Hi, I have this problem with my laptop Sony VAIO VGN-NS11J.
The problem is that while typing text the Cursor will either jump back into previously typed text or will sometimes initiate another page on it's own.
This is very annoying as I cannot type well enough to watch the screen and type - and I have to look at the keys as I type.
This then necessitates me having to go back correct and re-type my text.
I have windows 7 installed on this laptop.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Try updating the touchpad driver or if you are use an external mouse then disable the touchpad and see if it stops.

The erratic movement of the mouse cursor might be due to the high sensitivity of the touchpad.

Try these steps may be your problem due to the high sensitivity of the touchpad
-Go to the Control Panel (large icon view) > Mouse > Device Settings > Settings
-Under the Synaptics Settings, go to Pointing > Sensitivity > Palmcheck and set the palm sensitivity near the maximum settings and test.
