Ive downloaded an icon pack to change the folder icons in c:\users\swarfega but I cant seem to change Contacts and Desktop since the Customise tab is missing. Is there a way to change those two?

Also are there any dynamic icons that change according to the folder's contents like what the current yellow folder icons do?

You have to edit the registry to get the customize tab back:

(OPTION TWO) http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/16336-user-folders-change-default-icon.html

For the contacts folder it is key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\{56784854-C6CB-462B-8169-88E350ACB882}\PropertyBag

In that key you should see a NoCustomize Dword with a value of 1, change to a 0 and you can now get the customize tab.

The Desktop folder properties are here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\{B4BFCC3A-DB2C-424C-B029-7FE99A87C641}\PropertyBag

I've windows 7 64. Did this and obtain target on desktop folders, but as far as I can tell only random folders through-out the system. Any thoughts to this matter?
Thanks
konmaan

Check that all is well. Seems I was loking at folders in the library not folders on the direct drive path. So posting for the FYI of things.
Thank You

Hi,
I'm sorry, it might sound a bit stupid but what do I do with the key so I can get the "Customize" Tab? Do I copy & paste this key somewhere?

I try to copy & paste it in the seearch bar and it made the change in the regisetry but unfortunatly it is not working. It is the same with the download button at option #1, I download it, install it but it didn't work either. Do you have an idea why it isn't working? I've seen a few people who's having the exact same issue...

Thanks in advance,

Yannik
