No need to apologise, it was just a bit of constructive criticism..Sorry bout that i did the button late last night i was tired.I know what i did wrong.I took original image then deleted the black background but as you can tell on hover state part of the background was still there.So when i applied alpha channel it was for the background part as well.
Just a little tip though: if you want to take an image that already has a black background and add a nice smooth alpha layer, (Note: I use PhotoShop) switch to the "Channels" tab and ctrl+click on the RGB preview. Instead of selecting the contents of the layer (as this does in the "Layers" tab), this then selects the colours in the layer, and the selection edge fades according to the intensity of tho colour. Hope that helps a bit.
