I'm a novice to customizing Windows 7, and have tweaked it rather successfully so far, but I've run into a roadblock. The next tweak I'm trying to do is to replace the loud Favorites star to something a bit more low-key.

In HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{323CA680-C24D-4099-B94D-446DD2D7249E}\DefaultIcon the registry key points to resimages.dll in System32: %SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-1024

This should point that yellow star, which I would like to retrieve and edit to replace if at all possible (I'm unsure if I can simple point the DefaultIcon key to any old .ico file or if it needs to be a .dll, but at this point that's not a huge issue). However, it doesn't seem to be there, but I'm able to change an icon of a file to the yellow star.

I've tried looking through imageres.dll in Resource Hacker but I can't seem to find it there either.

On another note, does anyone have experience changing the "Favorites" label to something else?

Thanks, that didn't come up in a search and has led me to some software that helped me change it something more suitable. Now to figure out how to change the label...
