I installed windows 7 ultimate yesterday. everything went fine except after installation i get this weird bad image error

C:\Windows\system32\DDRAW.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.

does anyone know how to fix this? everything runs great on windows 7 except when i ran certain programs, such as MS Office Word, then this error pops up but i can still use Word.

Thanks in advance

The most straighforward explanation is that the file itself is simply damaged, possibly because of file system problems, or even HDD unreliability. Suggestions:

1) Perform a full CHKDSK /R on that partition. In particular, note whether any "bad sectors are detected".

2) SFC /SCANNOW to attempt to repair the (DirectDraw) DLL.

You could try to go back in time using a recovery point.

Might be you installed something, software, like a device driver, or something else that caused your problem.

To recover your system to an earlier restore point see link below:

Don't forget to look at METHOD 2 in case you cannot boot into Windows 7 anymore.
