Defragmenting D partition windows 7

Why can't I defrag my D partition fully?
It's 55% fragmented and with Windows itself, or Io bit defragmenting software, it hardly improves.
What is written on that small partition, which is created by installation?
Could it be removed or merged of wiped?

The Windows defrag tool only defragments files smaller than 64 MB because Microsoft's considerable research says that fragments larger than that have a negligible impact on performance.

Presumably you have considerable space devoted to files larger than that size that are either being ignored or are considered unmovable. Maybe games or large media files?

I think you can try defragging from the command line using the w switch, which should force defragging of all files, regardless of size. I've never used it. I'd doubt you'll notice any difference, but I can understand the obsession with "complete" defragging.

Re the small partition. Are you referring to System Reserved? You can copy what's on it to C using EasyBCD and then delete it if it bothers you.

Or are you referring to some other "small partition"?

It's probably you're recovery partition and doesn't have enough free space to do the defrag, plus you should not defrag a recovery partition anyway,

Post a screen capture of a full screen Disk Management window.

To open Disk Management, press Windows key+r, type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter or click GO. Make it full screen. Expand the fields as necessary so everything can be seen.

Once you have the image saved, click the Go Advanced button then click on the Paperclip Icon next to the Smiley Icon. In the Manage Attachments window, click Browse and navigate to where you saved the image and select it.
Click the Upload button.
Close the Manage Attachments window.
Click on the Paperclip Icon again and select the image you uploaded. It will be placed in your post.
