I am having a problem deleting my history with the new I.E. I use Tools/Internet Options ect. I delete my browsing history and all that jazz but when I open my browser the history is still all there. Anyone else having this problem or am I just missing something?

Dont forget the inprivate window feature built in to IE8, Ctrl+ShiftP
If you really dont want anyone to see your history surf through the inprivate window and everything is gone when you close IE8 window to end the session

You can also click on the down arrow in the Address Bar, hover your mouse over a URL, then click the red X to delete the item.

I am sure that you noticed, but when you choose delete browsing history the next screen asks, just what you want to delete, and you must check the boxes.

Ok, I just returned, because I realized what may be the cause of your problem. Any items that you have in favorites, will not be deleted. This is a feature and not a bug. If you always come to Seven Forums and you have your password saved. You do not want it deleted ,when you delete browsing history. If it were erased you would have to return and enter it again. In my favorites, I have a folder titled, sites to preserve. Any site that I want to remember my password (windows 7) or ID, I put in that folder. I think that this solves the problem

I appreciate the help but for some reason no matter what I do i cannot delete my browsing history. I guess its not that big of a deal but it just bothers me that they seem to be stuck there. Im still using vista if that helps any one.

Im willing to bet it works the way it is suppose to. Go to any web page. Then go to the address bar, using the drop menu, check the number and names of the sites that are listed. You wil,l also, see history, favorites Do the delete browsing history. Then check the address bar, again. I bet the only thing that you see is favorites.

I know this, only because Win 7 is so much different than my prior Win 98, that I thought that it was not working, also.

In the event that I am wrong, which of course is very possible, sorry to have doubted you.
