Deleted System Reserved Partition

To start Win7 after deleting the System Reserved partition you'd Mark C Partition Active
then run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times until Win7 starts and holds the System Active flags.

Otherwise select Install Now, during the CUstom Install, use Drive options pictured in Steps 7 and 8 of Clean Install Windows 7 to delete all partitions, create and format New one and do the Clean Reinstall.

Stick with only the tools and methods compiled for a perfect install in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 and you will get and keep a perfect install for as long as you do.

I can't mark it as active because there is no partition for it.. it's just a 4096mb (offset 101mb) primary install partition, and a 461 GB partition.. the SR is only 100 MB...

I have to find this and fast because the 'system repair 3 times' thing aint working on repair disk or install disk... Do I need to create a partition? and if so how do I make it the system reserved partition ?

Your tutorials are helpful but there are a ton of them and nobody knows for sure which one pertains to my specific situation... I feel hopeless right now, nothing is working.

Edit: okay I THINK I fixed that problem, not bootmrg error anymore but still get an error and I think it's because no windows is installed..

What? You just said you have a primary install partition which is what you'd mark Active. Mark Partition Active

Why are you removing your friend's System REserved partition if you don't know what you're doing and can't follow clearly written steps to repair it?

Now mark the Win7 partition Active and run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times .

Dub Zero, if you wanna have a single-partition Windows7 install, have a backup OS on another partition or HDD to be able to work with it externally.

From another OS run a partitioning tool and remove the tiny partition before the C drive. Resize the C drive so it covers the space of the deleted partition.

Run a partitioning tool that runs on boot from a USB or CD, mark the main Win7 partition active and assign it its original C drive letter. Then reboot and let Startup repair adjust whatever it needs to.

This does work, I just tested it an hour before I made the post. I too did not wanna a double-partition installation so I removed the reserved partition. Mounting the primary partition was all that needed to be done for Startup Recovery to do its thing and be able to log back in.

I thought the "System reserved partition" was the small 100MB partition before the C: partition that's used to assist bitlocker and run Startup Repair in the absence of the Windows 7 install DVD. Did I miss something? If it turns out I did, feel free to delete my posts in this thread.

The system reserved partition holds the bootmgr. It can also be used for bitlocker, but not in Home Premium. That is an Ultimate function. For startup/repair you nedd an installation ot repair DVD. There is no code in the system partition.

No need to delete your thread since it is quoted in my response anyhow. When the OP sees all that, he will probably understand. A deleted thread would only confuse him more.

Not exactly. Different tools use different terminology. The volume had no drive letter after the system reserved partition was deleted. All that needed to be done was mount it (assign it its drive letter) with a boot-time partitioning program that I ran from a USB stick and then Startup Repair could do its thing.

Well people that are serious about fixing their problem ask for clarification. I didn't say what tools I used because they aren't free and the OP would either spend a lot of money just to fix a momentary problem or get a virus looking for cracks. So I wanted to avoid that and let others suggest free alternatives if he asks what tools he should download.
