Hi

I have Windows 7 Pro (RTM) installed on a DELL Precision M65 laptop.
My LAN interface reports "Cable unplugged" although the cable is inserted and working.
I have no network connection through this interface.
the onboard NIC is a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit adapter and the driver reports it is working correctly.
If i try to install the latest driver from Broadcom, Windows says I already have the latest driver installed!

Any Suggestions?

Thanks
Gordon

Possibilities include:

Bad cable
Bad port - check for dirt, etc.
DHCP sensing disabled jave you been tweaking?

It was a clean install of Windows 7 this afternoon. Port & cable worked perfectly with Vista this morning.

Now it appears that the the problem is to do with the DELL D-Port Replicator that I am attached to.

Powering up off the dock works fine, but on the dock I just get two constant orange lights.

Dell has specific drivers for their port replicators. you may have use a vista diver from Dell.
