digital out

I am having a problem getting digital out from a P6T motherboard running Windows 7 x64 7100. It has the Realtek ALC1200 codec with the 2.23 driver. The digital out works in Windows XP x64 but nothing comes out in Windows 7. My reciever will show if it is getting any signal and it says nothing is coming, not just no sound but it does not reiceve any bitstream at all. I've tried most all the buttons and check boxes to see if some combo gets its running but nothing works. Any ideas?

Check the simple things first.

Did you set the S/PDIF output on your sound device as the default?

Yes, I know it's basic, but every now and then, we miss the little things...

Yes, and I have tried switching to the optical from the coaxial just so see if they mapped wrong but that was not it either.
