Have any had the problem of disappearing system folders? Both the Accessories and Startup Folders in my Windows 7 Ultimate have dissappeared, gone from the programs list. I can't find then at all. The search app does not find them either. :sarc:

Actually I just noticed that something was not starting on startup, went to look up startup folder and it was not there. No biggie just irksome. Thother night went to look for something in the Accessories folder and found it was also not there and just not looking at the image in your post noticed that the maintence folder is also not there. I have really no idea how long they have been gone so restore or Acronis is a litttle impractical for me, at least at this time. I have no idea hoe they could have just diappeared like that.

Hello,

Pardon My Intrusion

A suggestion try to create a New User Profile and see whether you having the same problem in that. If that works fine then just transfer the personal setting to that Profile

Hope this helps,
Captain

Actually that was an excellent idea and suprize it worked. Now to find out just why it happened in my original account. Oh, the malware scan was negative but thanks for the program I may keep it around. Always good to have another. Thanks for all the ideas and help.

Glad that it worked !!
Not sure why it happened might be a bad profile. But if you want try to copy the Startup and Accessories folder from New User Profile to Old Profile.

Locations:

C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories

Hope this helps,
Captain

I'm glad you got it sorted and I'd keep "MBAM" as it's an excellent scanner, most of us here use it.
