I just sell them at the thieves guild, when your the leader they seem to have lots of gold lol

Interesting... a serious reason to join them :)

So no "mudcrab merchant" found yet?

Edit: I've run into M'aiq the Liar several times now but so far said nothing particularly intreging.

poor m'aiq, he burned his sweetroll
I still haven't figured out what that random guy is for. . .

Has anyone completed the College of Winterhold quests yet? I haven't been able to figure out if the blue spectral looking drugars in the laberynthian depths were a glitch or intentional...

i just robbed a couple traveling to whiterun? it was wealthy merchant, his wife and a bodyguard. i spoke to him and he said he was tired and mentioned that he had gifts for a wedding he was attending. i told him ''i will be relieving you of those gifts'' and action ensued. i quickly disposed of the guard. The couple got ahead of me, but i managed to pick off the husband with the bow. The wife got away. The Hunt Begins.

he's kinda like cool little joke bethesda added. all the things he talks about are related to things the fans wanted in the game but never made it.

yeah. he sounds crazy, but its all really cryptic. he was also in morrowind and oblivion. in morrowind i think he joked about horses and their meat, and during oblivion he mentioned that dragons exist, but they fly so low they become invisible. i don't remember if thats what he said but its pretty close and a cool little Easter egg.

lol, awesome. I might go pick a fight or two with the giants :)

* Generally doing anything (killing NPC's, clearing dungeons, finding items, letting a summoned creature kill a quest-specific kill target etc. etc.) that are required for a quest, BEFORE you ever see/receive that quest, breaks the quest. Quests all need to re-check for triggers having already been achieved the moment you accept them.

Damn. That potentially curtails the 'ignore main quests; go explore' ethos of the game that I've been doing.

As for that buglist so far ...:zip:

Howard said:
"Are there going to be bugs we didn't catch in a game of this size?" he asked rhetorically. "Our assumption is there are going to be."

Quite the safe assumption.

Yeah that does suck as I'm quite sure I broke quite a few quests according to that rule

Although, when given a quest to place I've already visited, for the most part I've been able to complete the task once it was "officially" given.

The only quest I've not been able to complete is the quest where you have to find a copy of "Remanada". Shortly finding the book I was given the "official" quest to find the book, but now I can't clear it from my active quest, even though I've visited the place, and spot, again.

On the other hand I haven't given the book to the person requesting (don't remember who or where to take it), maybe doing so will clear the quest(s).

The quest breaking is crap. I've got a few, and the thing of it is, you can't drop or get rid of the quest item in our inventory to pick it back up to see if it fixes it. At least in FONV it would recheck to see if you already had items when starting the quest.

One for me is having Panteas flute before getting the quest. She won't take it, and I already have the flute.

Also Red Eagle quest will keep reactivating after you've finished it, everytime you read the book - "The Legend of Red Eagle".

Yeah, I agree it is annoying. It goes back to this statement.....

But diligent as Bethesda may be, burned by its own ambition and relative lack of testing, they make massive games full of unpredictable events. Random stuff happens. People can go anywhere, killing, chatting, looting, and defying any direction the game's creators put in the game. That's the point of a Bethesda game and why people like them. But that's also why they are prone to bugs, blemishes and other fun-ruining vermin. Howard is proud to say that Skyrim is a whole lot bigger than his last game, Fallout 3, but he knows what comes with that.

The Skyrim Team Has a Better Plan for Squashing Bugs this Time

They should just hire some gamers and I'm sure they could find plenty of the bugs and get them fixed before launch. They must have a terrible bug finding team.

Well despite all that it is a better game on release than that dreadful Fallout New Vegas

But yeah they do need more game testing, and longer development time. If anything, enough of this "we gotta get it out by such and such date, no matter what" mentality

Still, bugs and all people cant seem to stop playing this, me included. So the way I see it, is the game has been launched, and thats it, they cant do anything about that, they rushed it and has allot of bugs but its allready out. Now they can make a patch to fix those bugs, however this time they should not rush, i think they should take there time, and create one uber patch that solves more than 90% of the well known bugs. So by rushing to finish it wednesday, will still leave some major bugs, and maybe they keep some people happy with a quick patch for a litlle while....but eventually they are going to need a nother patch again and again, so imho make one patch, even if its over a gig in size, but make a patch that solves 90% of the bugs AND adds direct x 11 to the game, so that all can see its worthy of download. Even if we have to wait for another week or more, atleast we will have a sucsesfull patch with some cool bonus features...?

I've only found two masks so far :(

And as far as the bug list goes. Anyone that has ever worked on any software knows that the bug lists are always huge. You have to prioritize them and you take care of the really big ones first. But new bugs are always found and the list grows as you are shrinking it.

Take a look at the mozilla bug list sometime if you want to be scared:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Firefox

Click on any one of the 2 dozen sub components and look at the dozens or hundreds of bugs for each one!

It is pretty ballsey of them to publish that list, but I can tell you there is not a single piece of software you use on ANY os that doesn't have a list just as depressing. You would have to give up computing entirely :)

Yeah, there are two on that list marked in red as in RED FLAG. Those should have been fixed in this week's release and aren't... :(

At least one of them (the generic broken quest bug) was bigger than anything they are releasing on Wed., but maybe the fix was just going to take too long to hold up some of the "lower hanging fruit" being fixed this week...

Truthfully, I've run into several of the bugs being fixed in this weeks patch far more often than most anything else on that list including the two red flag ones...

Choosing which bugs to fix and when is quite the art...

Yup, i never had that quest problem bug, the only ones i got were gerting kicked out the game, but changing the sound mhz fixed that, getting purple armor at some points and i resently got a major one where the game freezed and would never resume, but i fixed that by removing a bad mod i installed, so that was my own doing. But all i honestly want from a new patch is if they can add dx 11 with high intense graphics :D

Heh yeah, that'd be nice, though it looks pretty awesome so far. My only gripe is my 480 card is slightly underpowered at times and have to keep the draw distance down further than I would like leading to noticable popup. (Course also running at 1920x1200)

I tried out the Ambient Occlusion driver last night and that makes it look really nice! Much less washed out, better local contrast, at night or indoors or undergound is especially good. But it took even more FPS off and I think it messes with the AA somehow too. So I may have to turn that back off sadly. But anyone with a 560 or above should give that a try.

Hey guys.

So this is actually the first time I'm playing this game, and I must say that I'm perfectly fitted for it. It's very worth the wait, and the Elder Scroll's Saga's game: Oblivion should also be as epic as Skyrim shots.

Regarding the technical stuff, I run the game perfect at a good 150-200 fps. The only issue I experienced was running downstairs for the first time. It was very laggy at that point, but I think it was autosaving though.

I'm running game at full resolution and everything on ultra with no issues. My card is GTX 560 ti.
There's a BETA-release on Nvidia series driver increasing some stuff below.

I will post back as I digg into the story. :)

Fred.
