Hi everyone.
I am recently having problem with my PC.
My PC in not showing output on monitor when i start the PC.
but after pushing the restart button the PC restarts and output is displayed.
i don't know what is the problem. See my system specs in profile.
sometimes i have to restart twice to bring output.
I have dual boot with Ubuntu and windows 7 ultimate, so I push restart when it reaches the grub menu.
My PC's boot up itself takes more than 25 seconds till it reaches grub menu.
Please can somebody help me?
even if someone have any idea about the problem please share.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
It doesn't look to me that the single stick of ram is seated all the way down the clips look different than the others :/

And why do you only have 1 stick anyway 2 would be normal to run in dual channel.

I'd also reseat the card too.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,

And why do you only have 1 stick anyway 2 would be normal to run in dual channel.

I'd also reseat the card too.

Here is what I did:
First I figured out how to remove graphic card then I removed it and reinserted the ram.
I plugged all cable with the case open then I started the pc .
Then the PC started beeping rapidly which seriously freaked me out.
I quickly turned of the PC
Then I reinserted the graphic card and attached the vga cable to it then started the PC and same thing happened again.
I didn't know what was wrong?
Then I unplugged all the cable and closed the case and put the monitor and case where I use them them and plugged all the cable again.
Now I Started the PC and there was no rapid beep and the started there was the output.
Finally I got relief that I haven't done something bad with my PC.
So this did solve my problem.
I think system can't be started with that case open.
It took as I maintained that much time to reach the grub menu which was not the case 8 months ago.
My hard drive is only 50gb free, if that could be the problem or the dual boot is the problem.
If I clean install an os which formats the whole hard disk will this problem be solved?
It would be appreciated if you could give your comments.
And I don't have another ram to insert, this is the whole PC which I purchased seconds hand with my friend 8 months ago

Hi,
On another note the cpu cooler looks pretty dirty
Remove the fan and clean it and the aluminum cooler from accumulated dust stuck to it.

At least the ram clips look like they are seated correctly now :)
I'd look into adding a matched set of ram in the near future the machine should operate a little fast using dual channel even if you get a 2x2gb or 4gb pack opposed to 2x4gb but go by your budget there

50gbs left on a 500gb hdd well that's another story
If you want to dual boot put Linux on it's own hdd and keep your os's completely seperate
I personally use one of these little jewels to do dual booting
