In My Opinion...........

Logically, I find it hard to believer that anyone could assume that, with a large as the universe is, that THIS is the only planet with some kind of intelligent life on it. It's just too vast for there to be one single (and in reality, miniscule) planet that just happened to get lucky.

We are not intelligent life!!

Wars,diseases,hunger,self destruction.....this is not intelligent,this is a high level stupidity.

Of course, by intelligent, I mean capable of thought. Not always smart, or good thoughts, but thoughts none the less.

Selfish is the wrong word, because there is only ONE master of the universe, and He doesn't live on some alien foreign planet. The only purpose I see in the word selfish or ignorant is to stigmatize anyone that doesn't believe as you do.

If humans didn't exist on this planet and aliens visited then they would see that intelligent life did actually exist since if it didn't then all these existing lifeforms would have died out long ago. The other ape species are not that far behind us and other species show varying levels of intelligence. Our brains, our hands and our mouths seem to have been the making of us - the mouths part also being the undoing of so many unfortunately - and in my case my typing fingers!

Brains, hands, mouth...they all work in unison either for the better or the worse. The theme and tempo of this thread is proof of how they can work for the worse...especially the brain. However, I don't hold anyone in particular responsible for their state of being, it would be difficult to be otherwise, considering the social and educational environment that they were raised in. If one doesn't like or respect the state of affairs, the only solution is to change it, but that doesn't necessarily mean changing the world, only themselves.

Of course, my answer is obvious, but I can't explain why without violating forum rules. Even if I were to limit my explanations to logic, that would take much more time and space than is practical for this thread.

EDIT: It would be easier to go the reverse...most people who believe in aliens, do so with the logic that the vastness of the universe requires life on other planets just by citing the odds. Of course using the odds requires that one accept the fact that the universe and everything in it was created by the chaos of chance. Therefore, if one planet with intelligent life exists, there must be more. This mindset is not without an element of logic, but logic ultimately requires all elements to fit together into one seamless picture.

Without going into detail, I will say that the logic behind this concept falls apart at multiple points. However, those that tenaciously adhere to this concept, shrug off those gaps either by believing that they don't exist, or that they will be filled by some future knowledge or theory. I believe the reason for this is that if they did see the faults, that it would require them to look to different ideas that they either reject or are uncomfortable with.

Sure. I believe that the universe is too big for us to be the only life forms but wouldn't say that they're the stereotypical alien that looks like this:

That picture I might add is of a real alien that came and settled on Earth called Brink.

With you J on this done if the universe is infinite ( I also do not believe in the big bang) then I have always thought while there are doubles of us on this planet then why not on some planet that will never be known about.

Now the big bang if things are moving away from us then can someone then explain why things are moving towards us - even going past us?
Now simple (as I am) logic tells me that the matter contained in the universe could not have come from nothing - it's a nonsense.:focus:
