How do I prevent the "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" (first image below) popup window from appearing when I fail to clear the check mark for "Always ask before opening this file." (second image below) when installing a new program?

Thanks!

Mike

Hi TWHPRK, welcome to the Forum.

You can change that if really want to, but it is definitely recommended that you don't, as this feature is a very necessary safety feature to prevent the installation of malicious or dangerous software unbeknown to you, as it can be installed without you being warned, which is what having this working does.

While it might be annoying it does warn you that some changes are about to made, so if you decide to install the program, you have been warned & doing so is completely your responsibility.

Well, every time I boot up I have to say "Yes, I want Search Everything to do this, that or the other."

IMO this seems somewhat unnecessary.

Have you had a look at your User Settings. Open Control Panel, click on User Accounts, then click on Change your Account Type to Administrator if it's not already one, click on Change Account Type if you have changed.

Then click on User Account Control Settings & Notify Slide control to second from the top, which is the Default setting.

If you only have a User Account & you are not able to change your setting to an Administrator control, then you wont be able to change anything & you will need to contact the Administrator.
