Does anyone have a problem with Nero?

I too often read comments, online, with people crying about how Nero is too big, and installs lots of unnecessary crap, or Nero steals all file associations, or ran away with my missus etc :p

That might happen if you don't choose to do a Custom install of Nero. What else would anyone expect that it would do ?

If you do a Custom install, it is very simple to choose which components and associations you wish to install .

Too easy if you pay attention while doing the install, and probably not really a problem if you don't .

Meaning?? I don't understand :sarc:

I never said i have a problem with installation.
I already used Custom Install with only Nero StarSmart,Nero Burning ROM,Nero Toolkit, with total of only about 800MB or so...

Maybe you misread this thread...

Bad news :( I already try to use Nero 8.3.2.1 but it still has the same problem :(

"Power Calibration Error" :(

Is it has something to do with the Disc? Or my drive? :(

I also try to use the native burning services by Windows and it won't work.

I choose "Use as USB/Flash Drive" then it failed to format the disc.
I choose "Use to Audio/DVD player", drag the files, then "Burn To Disc" but it won't work :(

I guess I'll just go to borrow my friend's computer to burn my files since I'm desperate to Back Up my overloaded files...:(

Power Calibration Error means several things;
Incompatible CD/DVD media (try using a different CD/DVD media)
Too high speed setting (try setting the burning speed at half of the burner's burn speed capacity)
Dusty CD/DVD lens (try giving it a good blow or better yet, get a CD/DVD lens cleaner, costs like a dollar :))
Old Firmware (try to get the latest firmware off the manufacturer of your CD/DVD)
If this is a PC, try changing the power cables running to your CD/DVD drive.
You might want to change the IDE/SATA cable being used for the CD/DVD drive as well.
Worse case scenario - Failing CD/DVD Drive

Cheers ;)

I agree two of the largest problems are media and firmware. The firmware updates the media the drive can use, so maybe it is really only one. Check the site below for your media to see if you are using the good stuff. You can also see the quality rating of other media in case you want to change. Media type is in the log mentioned below.

It seems some drives have more problems with the Calibration error than others, like Pioneer, if I remember correctly.

Another site that might help is a forum for Nero stuff. Look in the forums, Nero discussion. They will probably ask for a Nero burn log and I haven't check where in W7 it is stored, but look for NeroHistory.log. Post just the last section (last burn attempt) which contains all the info about your last burn showing the error, but don't post the serial number. There are many threads of this error.

Log starts with:
Windows Vista 6.0 <-- W7 in your case.
IA32
WinAspi: -

and ends with:
Registry Keys:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon
====== *** Nero Burning ROM, History File *** ======

Also, Google for the error.
