double trouble

Hey guys,

So i got up this morning, pushed the pc button to power up and it got stuck at the logo where you can press either the tab button to display BIOS post message or DEL to enter setup. After some restarts and unplugging everything and the power cord (of course plugging them again after) my pc wouldn't power up at all! It would power up for 1 sec.. After some plugging and unplugging and playing with the clr CMOS i finally got to make my pc run for 5 seconds...:sarc:

I really hate it when i my pc won't power up.. My day started badly..

Sounds like a PSU problem, but you could also try removing and then re-seating your cpu cooler (replace the thermal paste at the same time if possible)

power supply...slight chance of a bad cord or wall outlet

Like stated above start with all the power issues from wall to CPU, open case and inspect the fans and cooling, is the case dusty.....clean! Unmake and make all connections to clean and re-seat same. If after this the system is still acting up then try to borrow a PSU and wire it up and test.

problem solved! from the time that i made this thread untill now i unplugged everything and now it powers up! BUT now i get stuck on the BIOS loading screen where it says Republic of Gamers - Striker II Formula... (that was the 1st problem before having the issue with powering up..)

Place your finger on the drive(not the circuit board)you will feel a slight vibration....or maybe hear a faint hum...if not power down and swap out the power connector

I finally opened up my pc, checked the cables and changed the red one which was connected to the hard drive and then it booted up normally! Thank you for your time! and Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Good job the issues of connections are the first place people should check and it never hurts to unmake and make the connections and feel how well they are being made.
