Hi guys, me again.

I have upgraded ram to 2GB, however the downlad speed hasn`t improve... I am begining to wonder if it would be better to stick with xp...

In the xp my dwnld speed was 1,2MB/sec, now it is 500kB/sec...

The amount of RAM shouldn't have any bearing on your download speed. What service are you using to measure your speed with... Your results can vary dramatically from one test to another....

Yes, that is true, but my ISP has service to test download speed, and that test was always around 1MB/sec. Maybe, some program (just guessing) is eating my speed (like malwarebytes) that is running in background

No, malwarebytes is not... Well, no clues, when I am downloading, speed is around 440kB/sec, and system starts to "tweach" like there is not enough memory....

try this... goto msconfig/startup and disable all... reboot and test your speed again.. If you regain your speed, begin to enable the entries one at a time until you find the offending program.. This has happened to me before and was resolved in this manner...

Hi Matz,

Right cick on your malwarebytes icon in your taskbar and untick the IP Protetion then retest your download speed again. When you untick it give it a few seconds to kick in.

in the event of a network slowdown it's always a good idea to power down then power back up modem and or router sometimes if you do heavy downloading it will get flooded with packets and jam it up
