I saved an icon from the internet into a folder on my hard drive. renamed it inventory_mgr.ico but it still does not show right on the desktop. All other icons work correctly... even ones I have done before but I cannot get this one to. I have been searching for hours trying to find a resolution... Hopefully someone can help...

Those things usually don't look right until you mod them a bit. You need an icon editor. Greenfish used to have a nice one for free. I used to mess around with those off and on and I found it was actually better to copy and save a picture of say a logo and then do my mods and save it as an .ico. That way you have some control over color, resolution and size......some. Icons have their limitations....Downloading someone elses icon can be dodgy.....sometimes it's ok. Get the editor, study the possibilities and then you will be in control.....more or less.

Still didnt work

I have noticed that this is only happening when I add a new picture and try to use it as an icon. All my other desktop icons are working fine and even a new database that I created about 2 months ago is working with the icon I found for it on the internet. I am at a loss and cannot understand why any new ones are not showing correctly........
