Planning on doing a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate 64bit on my asus pc, not actually sure what model it is because previous owner put it in an aftermarket case, i boot from windows 7 ultimate disc and it goes thru first few stages fine, when i comes to selecting the drive i get a window pop up saying 'A required CD/DVD drive device is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive please insert it now.'

can anyone shed some light as to what driver it could be on about??

thank you in advance

You should be able to open case and get motherboard make/model from sticker/label on board then go to manufacturers (asus) website and download any drivers required, although saying that win 7 is pretty much driver complete (except USB 3.0) and shouldnt really need anything unless you are trying to install to a raid array

If you cant solve it you could try installing via a usb flash stick, instructions here
