Dual Boot: Cannot "see" data partition

Partition Wizard works well with all versions, in 32 or 64 bit.

It even works with XP.

It just works.

Always back up your files with copying, resizing or converting operations, tho.

Did anyone ever set the other drive to primary in the bios? Maybe he has an older bios and can't for some reason, or is using some type of extra controller, but I boot with active partitions on other drives all the time without problems.

ok, i think i want to do a clean up of my data drive, reformat it, and have a single os, win7.....(sorry)

So now, can you do a teaching of taking the win7 os, and making it the only os that the drive has, essentially deleting the xp os. ?

*Question: why do most folks essentially desire to even have a microsoft dual boot, especially the xp/win7 after the Full Release was launched to the market?

Back up your data first. In Disk Management, delete data drive partitions, create New, format logical. Copy data back.

Boot into Win7 DVD, select Custom install, select Win7 target HD ONLY, use Drive Options (advanced) to Delete all, create new partition(s) as you wish, then format before installing Win7 to first partition.

If you want to keep your Win7 installation but remove XP, boot into Partition Wizard CD to rightclick XP>delete, rightclick Win7>Modify:SetActive, then rightclick>Resize sliding left partition border to include all of the deleted XP space. Apply all steps.

Now boot into Win7 DVD Repair console, click through to Recovery Tools , run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times to repair MBR and start Win7.

*My answer: nostalgia. We used xp For a long time and now a better os is there, so we want to use them together. matches with your answer?

Follow the instructions suggested by Greg. It will lead to a stable installation. But if u dont want to reinstall 7, first delete xp bootloader (I recommend easybcd to do it) Then Format the xp drive. (Do it from within 7)

If u are not to able to boot 7 then, get a startup repair as greg suggested earlier.
