I just switched over to a SSD, and ghosted over my dual boot partitions (XP/7). XP booted up fine, 7 didn't work at first and then I got it to repair itself using my old hard drive.

The first thing I noticed is my bootloader said

Windows XP
Windows 7 Ultimate (recovered)
Windows 7 Ultimate (recovered)

I found out which one worked and which was the old one, so I deleted the empty name. It now says

Windows XP
Windows 7 Ultimate (recovered)

All I want to do is change the name back to Windows 7

Before it was like this (And it was perfect)

Windows XP
Windows 7

How do I change the name? Im using EasyBCD 1.7.2

Go to "Change settings" and, at the top, select windows 7.
On the bottom window, change the name to anything you fancy.
"Save settings"
Done

Three desktops and one laptop with good specs..
OS
Vista and now 7 in 32 and 64 bit.
Thank you that worked perfect.

One thing I just noticed is that its showing the Vista loading screen, where the status bar just moves along and comes back around with 3 green squares.

How do I get the Windows 7 loading screen back on here?

I'd like to know that, each time I've done a repair you lose the loading screen.

Any ideas Brink.:)

Hi,

You could try the alternate bootscreen and see if you prefer it :

Type msconfig in the start search box, run it when it pops up.

Under the boot tab, tick the box labelled No GUI boot

Click OK

Click Restart -or Exit without restart, if you want to wait till your next restart.

Hope it helps
