DUMP361c.tmp - what is this file?

I have a file on my storage drive DUMP361c.tmp. It is about 1 gig, am I able to delete this without issue? I am not sure what it is used for.

.dmp files are usually created during a crash event. It "dumps" (dmp) the data in use to a file where it can be analyzed if need be to determine the cause of the crash. Think of it like cops gathering all the cigarette butts they find at the scene of a crime just in case one turns out to actually provide a clue.


I would just delete it, unless your machine is crashing constantly and you want to use it to try and figure out why.
