What were you doing when the BSOD occured? That might help us to diagnose it

Also take a few mins to fill out your system specs so that we can see if it might be an incompatibility between a hardware and its driver too

have you made any changes to your system recently before this occured? has it happened again or was it just a one-time thing?

The first thing I would suspect is easy enough to test for - a bad memory stick. Boot up on the W7 install DVD and go to Repair, then perform the memory test.

Could you go to windows\minidump and get the mem dump zip it and upload it so we can look over it. If you cant find it search for *.dmp in windows.

Thanks

I was having the same blue screen yesterday. I was trying to reinstall Winodws 7, 7229 and it would not let me. I got blue screened 4 or 5 times. However, I can install and even reinstall Windows 7, 7100. And even though I now have the 7100 installed, I can't upgrade to 7229 though I had it installed before. I thought it might be my 7229 disc is bad so I am burning another copy and going to try that. Good luck to you!

Are you overclocking? Going just over the edge can cause BSODs. Possibly some builds may be more OC-friendly than others if you're at the borderline?

For the record - my rock solid HTPC with an Asus P5N7A-VM motherboard ran W7 7000, 7057 and now 7100 without any issues at all. However, when I first put it together, I had a bad memory stick that made it unstable in a way similar to what the original poster is experiencing.

I agree that he might well be served by removing any Asus software and stick with as pure W7 as possible.

Bye.

Hello, everyone.
I got the same issue when i installed new 2GB RAM. there was 1gb ram already running in my pc since i bought it.
my pc is AMD athlon XII 245. and Ram is 1GB PC6400 800Mhz. new one is 2GB pc 6400 800Mhz. mother board is ASUS. i can send u more detail if required.

The interesting fact is that after installing the new 2gb ram with old one 1gb. it run successfully for 1st 5 days. no problem, no issue. but suddenly now i noticed that both the ram don't work together. only one ram at a time works perfectly. otherwise even if it boot the pc with 2 rams. the same blue screen appears with the message (dumping physical memory to the disk) and shutdowns.

i am attaching the zip .dmp file when it crashed.
i just want to know. is it because of my memory slot? or the ram fault? or the combination is not working?
or if any BIOS settings are required? if yes then what exactly the settings required?

Your computer have a problem with your VGAcard`s RAM.if it is not onbourd change it.

There is nothing i have installed or replaced like VGA card etc. everything is onboard. and was running successfully. and still running successfully. i am writing this from same machine. but only problem is both the new and old RAM don't let the pc boot. and if it boots it comes to BSOD.

is it final detection of the problem? then tell me what to do. because the VGA card ram must be onboard. i have never installed it new since i have bought the pc. everything looks attached on board.

please give me the solution what can i do with this situation to use both the ram.

ok people, i found new interesting fact about the RAM. just before few days i again tried to use the other 1GB ram with paralleled 2GB. which i removed earlier.

IT WORKED. IT RUN SUCCESSFULLY FOR 4-5 DAYS. as it happened same when i brought new one. but then again today it crashed and refused to boot. so i remove it again and it working.

so the fact is something related with the BIOS term caching/shadowing which need to be disabled in bios. but i didn't found the value in my bios. which is of ASUS.

please intelligent peoples help me to understand the issue and solve it.
