IN my mac days I used Handbrake. I have tried handbrake for windows 7 but it just get caught in a loop. I have found a product called ripbot, but it seems to be a pain in the _____ to setup. I just want a free h.264 solution. 'come on guys, The "Vast amount of windows software" was one mild reason for the switch.

Thank you!

the problem is:

Too many choices, and I want opinions.
Some requier more work than I want. I just want to put a dvd in and get an h.264 copy

I am concerned about random internet downloading.

why reinvent the wheel? If something is trouble free and easy to use, speak up. I'd like to hear about it.

It does seem that for what I am looking for may requier a small investment.

I see people referring to DVDFab as an alternative to Handbrake. It is a pay program though.
