Error 2203 and windows installer folder is nowhere to be found

I got this error while installing a program. I found a possible fix here but my windows/installer folder is nowhere even though I have 'show hidden folders' checked. Any ideas? thanks

hummm..........

directly type in you explorers address bar and see C:\Windows\Installer
