I can create the file, but it just keeps asking for the next file in the process...or at least it says it's trying to create a file with a different name?

Can you create that folder (exact same name) yourself in temp? It looks (from permissions) you can.

It's trying to create a .tmp file not a folder. I can try creating one to see what happens.

I's good that WDO only found one thing. Do you remember the name of what it found by chance?

You might want to look into running a SFC /Scannow to see if any of your files are messed up.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html

No I don't remember. I think it was some .dll though. I will perform a SFC tonight. Thanks

It tries to create a folder!!

I hope I won't have any issues like I did with TDSSkiller. Even though it would run it would produce some driver errors and didn't seem to work. But I will find out tonight because this sounds promising!

Is looks like it tries to create that folder.

You're very sure you are the owner of temp folder and have "full control" permissions?

You saw the screenshots. I have no problem creating, modifying, deleting anything in the temp folder. It seems that the executable thinks otherwise! Even when I attempt to change the temp location.

I can double check though.

Create folder %temp%\testfolder
Copy setup.exe and all needed stuff to that folder

open http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/783-elevated-command-prompt.html
Code:
cd %temp%\testfolder
setup.exe
Post results

Holy shit that worked! But what does that mean? Am I going to have to put everything I want to install into a folder like this? I attempted to use CMD to run an executable in my E:\Downloads folder but produced the same error. So maybe my permissions in other locations don't allow me to modify?

I'm going to try that Temp File Cleaner after I finish this Mbam scan.

You started elevated command prompt and you have administartive rights. Then you start setup.exe which has automatically those right inherted.

When you run setup.exe normally as you did always.....press ctrl-alt-del and look if setup.exe is running under your username!! Do you see a UAC shield whwn you doubleclick setup.exe so does it ask for administrative rights?

right click setup.exe and do "run as adminstrator". Post back what happens

The executable is running under my name when I click on it normally as well as when I do 'Run as Administrator'. The same error happens both times. I also disabled UAC so there is no 'shield icon' on any executable.
(by the way this happens with all executables, I'm only using this one because mbam is already running atm)
qhZv6.png

Mbam found 9 objects but they weren't any harmful things (Hiren's, Photoshop stuff).

I thought about running TFC but I remembered that it will close all running applications, and since I'm currently running via remote, it will close that as well. I don't want to do that just yet.

That's not the only executable I've tried...What would digitally signed have to do with Access Permissions? I mean it is a commonality between the three files posted below but why?

Try to create a fresh new account. Logon to it and check if it has same problems. You can delete that account afterwards (including its files). Delete from another account

Isn't that the same thing? SFC found some corrupted file which I posted a few posts up. Thought a Startup Repair would fix it, but it said that it cannot fix some files (with an error that I thought wouldn't help). I will grab that error tonight.

I did enable the built-in Administrator account and still had the same issue. I will try to create another account tonight as well. Should I make it an admin or just a Standard user?
