Hello and welcome:

I think we need a bit more information...

Can you please clarify for us the following:

Are you on a Windows 7 PC when you try to log in to that library website? Yes or No

And the PC is on wifi when you do this? Yes or No

When you try to log in to the same site from another device (your phone) using your carrier network (not wifi), you ARE able to log in? Yes or No

Also, it might help if you could provide the URL for the library site.

If I misunderstood your problem, please provide additional information.

Thanks,

you understand the issue exactly. Using windows 7 the site is Welcome to Liverpool Public Library - Liverpool Public Library. when on my phone not wifi i can sign in. when using wifi on phone or computer I get the error message. Funny thing I had my husband try to sign on his computer and he got same message. I can sign into other library sites. Something with firewall? I was using the site fine earlier in the day. thanks for your quick replay:D

Hi:

OK, thanks for the information.
I assume you have some sort of wireless router?
And when you "bypass" that on your phone, by signing in via your mobile carrier network, you are able to sign in?

>>Do you have a means to "bypass" the router on your PC, e.g. by plugging an ethernet cable directly into your modem?

>>Another consideration: have you tried a different browser?

I know even less about networking than about other personal computing subjects.
So we will need to wait for someone more expert, but I wonder if your wireless router has been compromised.
I'm not sure about the role of a firewall in this, per se.
Additional info/testing might be needed, including a factory reset of the router.

Let's see what the others have to say....
