Error message when trying to open any Office prog.

Lost my Office program after repair/clean install

Version:Office 2007
Operating System:Windows 7 64 bit

Im getting the following error message:

ERROR: This package could not be opened. Contact the appplication vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer update package.

I recently had serious problems with my PC and had to do a clean install, I was told that it would keep all my files and documents and repair any problem with windows (windows 7 64 bit) But after doing this is seem I have lost all my microsoft office programs. I get the following error message when I try to open these programs.

Just an update after a bit of search, I can open office program by going into
c:/windows/program(x86)/microsoft office
just need to start menu out now.....

Can you see Microsoft Office listed from - Start, then All programs?

If so, touch Microsoft Office, then Microsoft Office Tools. Next Microsoft Office Diagnostics. Press continue to allow Diagnostics to try to Detect and hopefully Repair your installation.

Have you tried manually adding Office to your start-up apps? Take a look at this tutorial to see if it will give you some guidance:
