ERROR Recovery DAT NOT FOUND

OK I tried to install windows 7 ultimate on my brand new ASUS Laptop. Everything was going well, the installation was completed, I got a chance to scroll around. But when i rebooted my computer, i got an error saying recovery dat not found. And my brand new laptpp was crashed. But since i know a little about computers i was able to enter my boot splash screen and Recover Windows to the first partition. Don't realy know what it was going to do but i was able to get back to my pre installed win vista home prenium and all the files that came with my laptop.

But im still interested with windows 7 ultimate and im scared to try installing it again, a little advice would help........

oh yea idk if this was a problem are not but i installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit on a 64 bit laptop,,,,,

Go ahead and reinstall it. Clean install (not upgrade) is the best. Be sure to have your important files saved to an external disk or other safe place. If you have trouble, we will help you.

The 32/64 bit thing should not make a difference for you.

Right on your main partition, usually the biggest one.
