Ethernet Connection Lost (and Found?)

I know this is a really old thread, but I thought it was worth mentioning my solution.
The problem this whole time was due to my my anti-virus, which was NOD32. Even when disabled I still had disconnect problems. I uninstalled NOD32 and now the problem is gone 100%. I have switched to the free Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) anti-virus, which works pretty well. Hope this helps someone!

Right, just once from an elevated cmd prompt. I was prompted to reboot and was able to ping -t for several hours today with ONE dropped packet. Typically I would drop 5-10 every few minutes.

I was able to play BC2 for an hour straight, much unlike last night. Hope it works for you like it did for me.
