Event 41 Critial Kernal - Stop: 0x0000007e

Hi guys, new here o/

I got rushed out the door the door today to go shopping to shut my PC off using forced shutdown because it was waiting for some programs to finish shutting down. I get home 2hrs ago and I'm getting BSOD on the Windows loading screen. In the thread title is the error string given on the BSOD and Event 41 Critial Kernal is from the Event Viewer.

From Googling around this all relates to a Registry error, but I found 0 solutions on fixing it. So reinstalling Win7 atm but I am curious to see what you guys know.

I tried last known working config and 2 system restores and nothing worked. I could get into safe mode but didn't really know anything to try so I just backed up a few pieces and cleared my RAID 0.

Since you can get into safe mode can you go to c:\windows\minidump. use these instructions to find and upload the DMP file http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lockup-debug-how/34900-1-novice-how-ask-help-bsod-problem.html

when we figure out what is causing it we can fix it.

I'm afraid I can't as I don't have it and my fresh install is up and running already(with no problems so far).

I was just curious if anyone has past experiences they can draw from without reading the minidump.

I suppose what I'm asking is if my Registry breaks and it causing BSOD, how do I fix my registry.

Glad you are working. If you break you registry it is a good idea to have a backup. There is no registry fixer.

If your system is up and running the way you want it, I would seriously recommend that you make a system image of your hard drive and save it to a seperate drive/partition in case this happens again... it only takes a few minutes to restore vs hours to reinstall the OS and your apps..

Aye, with Win7 seeming so flakey I will try and make an image and store it some where.

Quite odd I find is I adopted Vista early on and had no trouble with it, yet it is considered ME2. Take Win7 on the other hand and everyone loves it, I do too.. but it's tough love.
