My PC just randomly shuts down and this is the event.

it could be heat or power related. what are the idle temps in the bios? when last time you cleaned out the case from dust? whats the make and model of the power supply and wattage?

50-60 Degrees Celsius is the temp. My PSU is Thermaltake TR2 600W

what are those temps for the cpu? they are on the high side for idle temps have you cleaned out the computer?

Yes I have cleaned out my PC. My old CPU idled at around 20C and max temp was 50C. What do I do? I uploaded my info on my original post.

i would start by cleaning off the old paste and apply new paste and see if it makes a differance in the temps.

I just installed the i7-4790k and then this started happening. I put on a new heatsink and new thermal paste. Can you look at my logs to see if there is a specific problem?

i can't look at the logs you posted as this is a work computer that i am on. will have to wait till i get home to look at what the logs says. i would still change out the thermo paste as you could have put to much or not enough on. and make sure the heat sink is securly fastened.

Ok. I re-applied it. Now what?

check the temps again and while in bios what does it show for the 12, 5 and 3.3 votages.

Now the temps are at about 30-40 Celcius!!!!

Temps now hovering at 40C and below

ok now run a game and check the temps again after playing a game for say 15 minutes. see if computer shutting down on you.

Max temp was 69C

ok run the computer as you normally would and see if the sutdowns still happen.

Haven't had any problems. I'll keep this thread open for another day just to make sure it is fixed
