I finally installed my new Crucial MX300 2.5" 525GB SATA III (SSD) into my Toshiba laptop. Have been working on setup
since 04-02. Did a complete re-install of Win 7x64 with a USB stick that I made from the System Recovery partition that was still in place on the old Toshiba HDD, burned it to a USB stick.
I've been getting things setup and removing the Toshiba Bloatware.

I took a look at the Event Logs and have come up with these Errors/Warnings that have me concerned.
I didn't make any changes to the BiOS, just to reboot from the USB stick and install operating system fresh.

I have noticed my system is faster when first install and rebooting the system after some Win 7 Security updates and the like. But I also noticed that as i've been installing my software I use, the laptop seems to be getting to Hot to the touch.
Wondering if these errors have N E thing to do with this drive and BIOS needing adjustments ?

HELP ! Sherri

P.S. I'm thinking I need a Firmware update on the Crucial drive, I'm checking out the site and have found a program there to check for those updates.

I'm wondering if the External Toshiba HDD needs to be checked as well.

Hi Sherri.
A laptop should run cooler with a ssd replacing a hard drive.
Is it possible that a connection came loose or may be something blocking the cooling path or fan when you installed the ssd.
How hot is the laptop running??
How old is the laptop and when was the last time it had a good internal cleaning??

Hello Jack,
Well I don't know, I didn't see N E thing but the Drive bay and just to push it back in the bay. I even used the Spacer it came with as it raised it up a hair to even it out.

How hot is the laptop running?
Sensor Type: HDD
CPU: 78 C/172 F
Crucial Drive: 42 C/108 F
To touch was way to warm. I did shut it off for a bit to cool.
(I use to have a 3 fan cooler tray sitting under it, but it stopped working. (Gotta check wiring on it.) Laptop sits on a wooden table.)

Bought it in 2010. On that Internal Cleaning? Didn't know you do that on a laptop, so it's never been done

Very important to keep the innards of a laptop clean. Laptops are susceptible to the same dust balls, pet hair and the like as any other computer. Laptops have poor cooling even when things are working correctly.

78 C is to hot.

I have never taken a laptop apart so I can't help you with that.
You might have to take it to a qualified repair shop.
Their are members that have dissected laptops that might drop by to give guidance.

Hello Jack,
that 78 C /178 F is the CPU, what's a range that would be healthy?
This is the actual SSD: 42 C/108 F, which I know that is way to hot as well.

I do have a plastic type of sheeting over the keyboard but I keep it closed as I use the wireless keyboard as I'm hooked up to my 55" TV set.

As far as taking it apart, I'm wondering if that keyboard as removable to get inside and blow out the dust?

N E who, I thought on the Firmware, Crucial needing an update maybe causing item 2) problem ?
I install that Crucial Storage Executive program and it shows an update is available for it.

Either way, I'm going to set system back to Factory Restore cause I already removed some programs that I wanted and couldn't get them back N E other way.

  Sherri

p.s... I do love Tinkering so I'll wait to see what others have to say about getting under the Hood :D

I have no idea what (N E) means.

Their is probable a manual or video's on line that will give some sort of instruction on how to get into your laptop.
