Hello,

Can someone please help me find out what driver or service 'ksop' is? Or, how to fix it?

I've been troubleshooting my Windows 7 laptop to try and find the cause of random, sudden shutdowns and a bunch of 7026 and 7001 errors. This 'ksop' error pops up every time I reboot.

I tried clean-booting, SFC, CHKDSK, etc, but I can't narrow down a service as the culprit. I tried Googling 'ksop' but I couldn't find anything that explained what it was, or a record of anyone else asking about this issue.

Anyone out there have any idea?

Here's the event info:

So far all I've been able to find out is that 'KSop' is a pool tag, and it's associated with something related to Windows 7. I still don't know what driver it's for, how to find out, or how to fix.

If anyone has any ideas, clues, or suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. Please, I'm at my wit's end!

This problem may occur if a device is not connected to the computer but the driver service of the device is enabled. For example, the following events are logged when the computer does not have a parallel port, a DVD drive, or a CD drive.
