More encryption types are available using the High Encryption Pack". When saving the excel file with password. It prompt me another message again, ""Excel is unable to encrypt your file. Please contact your system administrator to resolve this problem. Do you wish to remove encryption and try again? " Anyone has experience on this issue before? i am using ms office 2010 standard

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Start Excel then click File>Info>Protect Workbook>Permissions>Encrypt with Password.

Delete the password already entered and click OK to remove the encryption.

If you are on a domain, you will need to contact your system administrator to see what restrictions have been placed on your account.

Solution

Hi dear all,

Have been facing the same issue for 2 days...
I finally found out how to fix it!!

Just setup windows compatibility pack EVEN IF you have Microsoft Office 2007 installed on your system. (Download Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File Formats from Official Microsoft Download Center)

I guess compatibility pack probably additionnal function that not comes with standard Microsoft Office 2007 setup.

It works!!!

Hope that will help people http://images.sevenforumscdn.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Thanks for the tip. It's been some time since this original post. I've now Windows 10 on my HP laptop, but have only Open Office 4.1.3 installed. Open Office cannot open password protected .xlsx files. Installing the the MS Office Compatibility Pack, installs 'Microsoft Open XML Converter'. So open the .xlsx file with Microsoft Open XML converter, which converts the file and launches Open Office. It takes time to convert, but works flawlessly! Thanks again.
