Solved Expand ALL Device Manager Nodes.

Is there a shortcut or method available to expand ALL the Device Manager nodes?

When you open Device Manager, in order to see if there are any yellow triangles against any of the devices listed, you must expand each of the devices individually by clicking the + next to them.

On a desktop that has a keyboard with a numeric keypad, there are these shortcuts:

• Numeric Keypad *: Expands everything under the current selection.
• Numeric Keypad +: Expands the current selection.
• Numeric Keypad -: Collapses the current selection.
• RIGHT ARROW: Expands the current selection if it is not expanded, otherwise goes to the first child.
• LEFT ARROW: Collapses the current selection if it is expanded, otherwise goes to the parent.

What if any, are the shortcuts for a laptop please or is there a system setting that needs to be modified?

Had you seen the USB numeric keypads? You could plug in one of those, then your laptop would gain the functionality of a desktop, and you could access those shortcut keys that you are unable to access at the momment.

If you were merely concerned with tracking down faulty devices, then I would not worry too much, as the system automatically expands the "+" when there is a problem device. That has been my experience, anyhow.

BTW, thanks for the keyboard shortcuts as I did not know those ones were there!

Have you seen the USB numeric keypads? You could plug in one of those, then your laptop would gain the functionality of a desktop, and you could access those shortcut keys that you are unable to access at the momment.

The laptop goes with me so an external keyboard is not really an option for me, especially for a task that I might do once in a blue moon!

I personally don't need to track down faulty devices. My only interest is purely for replying to posts on SevenForums. I just thought it would make it easier for the OP to expand the nodes to see if there are any yellow triangles.
