I have a folder filled with mp3 files which i am organizing. The columns from left to right are as follows:
name, artist, album, size, length.

When I sort by artist, the name column is not alphabetically sorted(neither a-z nor z-a, just jumbled) , but the album column is. is this the norm? Common sense tells me that the name column would automatically be alphabetized unless i sort that specific column. Any Advice?

Hi radleyboo, Welcome to Sevenforums. Try this.

1) Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.
2) Navigate to User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Windows Components, and then select Windows Explorer in the left column of the Group Policy editor.
3) Double-click Turn off numerical sorting in Windows Explorer in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
4) Select Enable and then click OK to save the changes.

You can try this link as well. Window sort order
