Everytime i start my xbox if i want to have access to any of my files from my computer i have to reconfigure the settings. I have my computer connected to windows media center and the connection works fine until i turn off my xbox and turn it back on. Suddenly it can't play any of my files or connect to windows media center. To be able to access my files again i have to uninstall my computer and then reinstall it and then it works again. My computer is connected to my network with my laptop.

I am having the same problem.

I can install the xbox 360 in media centre (Windows 7) as an extender no problems, allowing me full access to media centre files on the xbox from my PC. Things work fine until i turn the xbox media centre session off. Next time i want to launch media centre from the xbox i get error saying Connection Failure. The only way i can then get it to work again is to reconfigure the settings as described in the post above. This works as a temporary solution however is not practical in the long run.

My xbox 360 and pc are connected to a router over wired connection.

Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone provide any thoughts on this issue?

Thanks in advance.

I am having the same issue. I have a direct connection from my Xbox 360 to my laptop (Windows 7 64 bit) using an ethernet cable. I use my iPhone to tether to the internet and I can connect to xbox live with no problem. I stream the media to the xbox using the media center extender. Everything works perfect until the following day when I try to reconnect. I always end up having to reconfigure the extender to get it to connect. Was hoping to find some kind of solution.
