hi, i recently bought a external hard drive, for my laptop,windows 7,it has been working ok until now, each time i reboot or restart windows the auto play keeps showing up?,it has never done this before?,i do not know why this is happening now?,any ideas as how to stop it?thank you,riptorn:confused:

Hi Riptorn

I was having a similar issue with autoplay turning itself back on.If your willing to sacrifice autoplay totally this "fix it" works great.You will never see another autoplay pop up again - How to disable the Autorun functionality in Windows.
If you are registry literate there are also options for turning off individual settings.

hi danny, i set it to take no action,it seems to have stopped it,thank you anyway;)

No worries glad you got it sorted.My external didn't show up in attached devices so I had little choice, but as I don't like autoplay running anyway it was a no brainer for me.
