For of all im sory if i post it in wrong thread.:geek:

Ive been hearing on my childhood age that cellphone may cause data loose or damage the Floppy Disk?. So it must not be near with the two devices.

Now getting newer and it came Usb Flash drive and External Hard Disk?..

So my question is???

Could the cellphone really corrupt or damage the USB Flash Drive and External Hard Disk if they are near?

I rather doubt this, I have set my cell phone atop my tower for charging for over 8 years now and next to my laptop thumb drive, hdd, while using it as a modem and have never lost data because of it.

The danger would be magnetism. I doubt that a cell phone has enough magnetic force (even if it is very close) to influence these devices. The signals themselves that are issued by the cell phone should be no problem.

Be Careful!!!

I think what they were describing is the fact that cell phones can have magnets in them.
my blackberry has a magnet in the holder as to turn phone off / on . lots of times when i pull the phone and pouch out of my poctet - there are coins "stuck" too it.
