External HDD can't be open but can be partially detected

RogueKiller is not showing the external HDD. Was it connected to the PC when you ran the program?

Yes, refer to the picture at post #40, you can see my external HDD "RAIN" [J:] (giving me smilies when I type a colon with a close parenthesis) in "Computer" and in WinRAR, and RogueKiller doing a pre-scan and a scan.
